1881 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle

Every once in a while I come across a coin that I would love to add to my collection but the owner doesn’t want to sell.  This is a great example of that.  In 1881 there were only 2,199 business strikes of the Double Eagle in Philadelphia.  For a number of years, Philadelphia minted the Liberty Double Eagle but only in small quantities.  Although this coin would not earn a high MS grade, it would certainly be a great addition to any collection.  The 1881 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle is rare in any condition!
